More Information:
Distribution: New Brunswick to Minnesota, south to Florida and Texas. Cultivated since 1736.

Size: 6-8 ft. tall (up to15 ft. tall), with a similar spread.
Form: Deciduous. Dense, multi-stemmed shrub, rounded with upright stems, eventually arching towards the ground.
Bark:
Stem/Bud: Buds are imbricate (one of the few Viburnums with imbricate buds), arrowhead-shaped.
Leaves: Leaves are opposite, ovate, l-3 inches long, with a very coarse dentate margin, dark green, glabrous and lustrous above, with a thinner texture than most Viburnums.
Fall Color: Fall color is yellow to red to purple.
Flower: Flowers are creamy white, borne in a 2-4 inch flat-topped cyme in late May - early June.
Fruit: Fruit is a blue to black drupe, in late Sept. through Oct.
Uses: Border, informal hedge, screen, naturalizing. Wet sites. Dry sites.
